Our History
Steve turned his hobby in to a full time job when he launched ST Motors over 35 years ago in Urmston. A self-taught mechanic Steve began by working weekends buying and selling cars at a unit he rented on Higher Road Urmston while continuing his full time job as a heating engineer Monday-Friday.
In 1988 a unit on Glebe Road, Urmston became available for sale and Steve quickly bought it. It needed a lot of work and took Steve around 2 years to get the money together to add a new roof and refurbish it. In 1990 the garage and showroom was complete and finally Steve could turn his hobby in to a full time career hiring Mechanic Ray and Valeter Mike to join him at the garage where the 3 men still work side by side together today.
Looking after customers for over 35 years has meant ST Motors has kept a loyal customer base with many people now returning to buy cars for their children and grandchildren as their own parents did for them there.
